While not celebrated here in the US, Children's Day is the last holiday in Golden Week in Japan. We would be so lucky to have a week off work in the US to celebrate our country, it's people and reflect on the past.
Kodomo no Hi, Children's Day is a day to celebrate the happiness of children. Koinobori are hung up by families, each size and color representing the parents and children. The choice of koi windsocks is based on the legend that fish swimming upstream become dragons that fly to heaven.
If you have children in your life, please celebrate them today or any day! 🎏
